Review

Recorded with some old friends including Ry Cooder, Duck Dunn, and Albert Lee Money and Cigarettes is one of Clapton's finest albums. Instead of being an empty exercise in studio professionalism, the record is an appealing, lowkey effort featuring some of the smoothest blues Clapton has ever played.

— Stephen Thomas Erlewine
